Election Announcement for WNO Executive Board 2025-2028

Dear WNO friends and well-wishers,

On behalf of the WNO Election Committee, it is our immense pleasure to announce that nominations of new WNO Executive Board members for the 2025-2028 terms can now be submitted.  We are planning a free, fair, and inclusive election based on the guidelines of the Constitution of the World Newah Organization.  If you are interested in running for office and meet the qualification requirements (see below), please submit a completed nomination form (attached) indicating your desired post to the Election Committee. 

27 WNO Executive Board officers are open to nomination as follows:

Senior Vice President (1) $300

Vice President (4) $200

General Secretary (1) $200

Secretary (2) $100

Treasurer (1) $100

Public Relation Officer (1) $100

Member (16) $50

Candidates should have a strong interest in promoting and preserving Newah culture. Requirements for all candidates as outlined in the WNO Constitution are

a. Evidence of active participation in WNO activities for at least three years
1) Dedication to the cause and objectives of WNO
2) Availability of time for the given position;
3) Absence of active participation in any political parties; and
4) Ability to communicate in Nepal Bhasa (Newah Language).

b. A nomination must be supported by 2 WNO members and accepted by the candidate. A presidential candidate must submit his/her manifesto along with nomination form.

c. Any Newah individual who has made a significant contribution to the Newah Society is eligible to be nominated as a candidate for the executive board members.

d. The nomination form and WNO Constitution are available at www.wnewah.org.

 Note:
(i) All times are in US Eastern 11:59 pm (New York) time (EST).

(ii) If necessary, the Election Committee may amend the above schedule. However, the election date will remain unchanged unless an unavoidable situation arises that required to reschedule the election date 

(iii) Nominations submitted or received after the deadline will be disqualified.
